Lufthansa wins eco award
Lufthansa has been awarded the accolade Eco-Airline of the Year for the second time by US journal Air Transport World.

The award was presented at the Annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards in Washington, D.C.

Lufthansa invests in a low-noise fleet and a range of programmes to improve fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions. Having conducted long-term testing on biofuel the airline will from this spring be filling its aircraft at Oslo airport with a sugar-based biokerosene blend.

ATW editor-in-chief Karen Walker said: "Not only does Lufthansa Group adhere to some of the world's strongest eco-aviation practices, but this is a company that truly invests in and devotes time and effort to efficiency programmes and developments that benefit the planet and the entire aviation industry."
